Fantastic-Beasts-Audiobook

After the film was released in November 2016, the Fantastic Beasts audiobook was later published in March 2017. Eddie Redmayne is the narrator of the Fantastic Beasts audiobook, and rightly so after his amazing performance as the main character (Newt Scamander) in the film adaptation. Redmayne’s narration really brings the book to life. It doesn’t matter if you haven’t read or listened to the books in the Harry Potter series, we believe that you will still enjoy the Fantastic Beasts audiobook.

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them Audiobook

The Fantastic Beasts audiobook is part of the Harry Potter series. It is, however, a textbook from Newt Scamander who was once a Hufflepuff pupil at Hogwarts. The Fantastic Beasts audiobook is fundamentally Redmayne describing the created beasts that adorn the Harry Potter world. To make it totally clear this is not the screenplay or the story of the film, it is the full A-Z of the beasts. Meaning that the Fantastic Beasts audiobook is for the Harry Potter enthusiasts (isn’t that everyone?). As I’m sure most of you already know, the book is a required textbook for all Hogwarts students. It was published in 1927, 9 years after the first edition was commissioned by Augustus Worme.

Although this is a textbook from the author Newt Scamander, Redmayne is able to bring to life the creatures, brightening our imaginations with his wonderful acting skills, even within an audiobook.

Just like the updated 2017 version of the Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them book, the audiobook includes 6 new beasts and a foreword from Newt Scamander. On top of that, the Fantastic Beasts audiobook also features attentive sound effects which only enhances Redmayne’s narration.

About the author

J.K. Rowling

Of course, you know who J.K. Rowling (Joanne Rowling) is by now, the creator of the wizardly world of Harry Potter. Apart from being a great novelist, she is also a screenwriter, television producer, and even founder of her own charity Lumos Foundation. In fact, 15% of the proceeds of the Fantastic Beasts audiobook will go to the Lumos Foundation and Comic Relief charity. Since releasing the first Harry Potter title back in 1997 she has received many honours and awards, including the British Children’s book of the year, the Hugo award for best novel (Harry Potter & the Goblet of Fire) just to name a couple.

Newt Scamander

Newt Scamander is the author of the textbook that is used by all Hogwarts students though. He was born on the 24th February in 1897. Scamander was a Magizoologist and attended Hogwarts within the Hufflepuff House, before being expelled. Scamander became part of the Ministry of Magic and spend two years there working in two different divisions. He was commissioned to write Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them in 1918, however, it wasn’t published until 1927. However, once released it became a bestseller, making Scamander an expert in the field of Magizoology. Towards the end of his life, he retired to Dorset with his wife Porpentina Goldstein.
